NYC St Patrick’s Day Parade Scholarship Contest 2022

The New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade is once again sponsoring both a College Level and High School Level Research Paper Contests in memory of three outstanding Parade leaders who have gone on to their eternal rewards, Francis P. Beirne, Margaret O’Rourke and Rosemary Lombard.

For college level essays, there will be one award for each of the above-named scholarships in the amounts of $3,250, $2,000, and $1,500. Determination of amount will be based on those achieving first, second or third place in the contest based on scores of the independent judges.

For high school level essays, there will be one award for each of the above-named scholarships in the amounts of $1,500, $1,000, and $750. Determination of amount will be based on those achieving first, second or third place in the contest based on scores of the independent judges.

The applicant must be a family member (son, daughter, spouse, brother, sister, niece, nephew, grandchild, grandniece, grandnephew, or great grandchild) of a member of an affiliated organization to the NYC St. Patrick’s Day Parade.

Essays and applications must be e-mailed no later than Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 11pm.

Winners will be announced by Thursday, May 19, 2022.

The Galway Association of New York to March in the 2022 New York St. Patrick’s Day Parade

After a two-year break due to COVID-19, The Galway Association of New York will march in this year’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Look out for Association members as they march along 6th Avenue after 3pm on St. Patricks’s Day. The Galway Association will be joined this year by 70 members of the Salthill Knocknacarra GAA Club who will be marching as a unit directly behind the Galway contingent on the day.
